Discharge or the coming out of liquid or blood during pregnancy can be considered both normal and abnormal. The condition depends on the amount and the frequency of the discharge. Actually, there are two kinds of pregnancy discharge which probably happens during pregnancy. The first one is the blood discharge and the second one is the mucous discharge.
Definitely, it is normal to experience blood vaginal discharge during the pregnancy. However, this blood discharge must occur in the early stage of pregnancy. Moreover, the frequency must be not too often. In the early stage of pregnancy, there must be an insemination between the sperm and egg. Then, the egg moves to the wall of the uterus and sticks there. Mostly, this process leads the uterus to bleed. Then, the blood spots come out through the vagina. Otherwise, if the vaginal bleeding happens on the second or third trimester it can indicate serious pregnancy problem. It may happen due to miscarriage, placental abruption, or any other problems. Besides, the constant vaginal bleeding can indicate ectopic pregnancy as well.
In fact, mucous discharge can be defined as normal condition during the pregnancy. Both in the early stage of pregnancy and in the last stage of pregnancy, the mucous discharge is normal as long as it does not spread bad smell and does not contains bad colors like green or yellow. In the early stage of pregnancy, mucous discharge happens due to hormonal system. On the other hand, if this pregnancy discharge occurs in the last stage of pregnancy, it can indicate that the labor time is getting closer.
However, if the mucous discharge is colored yellow or green and it smells bad, the pregnant women should be aware. This condition perhaps indicates that there can be bacterial infections, yeast infections, or candidacies infections. Those mentioned infections may lead the fluid inside the cervix flow down to avoid the infections reaching the uterus. In some cases this condition may not harm the fetus. Yet, any case of abnormal vaginal discharge must be cured immediately to avoid any further worse condition.
Pregnancy discharge normally happens in the early stage and in the last stage of pregnancy. It is considered as normal discharge if it happens in such normal frequency and in normal appearance. Otherwise, if it happens constantly and the appearance of the discharge is not good so it can be considered as abnormal vaginal discharge during pregnancy.
